Favorite Snacks

Need snacks to keep you full between meals? Here is a list of my favorite snacks:

  • Oranges with a side of Cashews. 
  • Tortilla Chips and Guac
  • Carrots with Almond Butter
  • Perfect Bars
  • Salted Cashews and Almonds
  • Almond Butter with some Mini Chocolate Chips
  • Sautéed Broccoli with Cashews
    • To Make: 
      • Wash and chop up 1 broccoli crown.
      • Heat a sauce pan  on medium heat and add 1 tsp of olive oil
      • Add broccoli to the pan. Season with pepper, basil, and garlic to your liking.
      • Add 1 tsp of lemon juice to the pan.
      • Cover the pan with a lid for 5 minutes.
      • While the broccoli sautés, crush a handful of cashews. 
      • After the timer goes off for 5 minutes, add in the cashews, place the lid back on, and sauté for 5 more minutes. 
      • Enjoy a tasty and healthy snack!
  • Sweet Potato Chips/Fries:
    • I alternate between making them homemade or buying some at Trader Joes. 

A rule of thumb when shopping at the grocery store for ingredients or snacks is to buy fresh foods and products that have 5 ingredients or less. To help with this, stay on the outside of the grocery store as best as you can. Baking is obviously one section located in the middle of the store, so you will have to venture into the middle once in a while for some items.
