My favorite aspect about coaching is watching an athlete’s eyes light up with excitement as they hit a lift or perform a bodyweight movement they never thought they could do. I love watching an athlete’s confidence grow and an athlete recognize there are no limits to their potential.
The growth in the gym carries over into one’s personal life as well. One may have more confidence trying new things outside of one’s comfort zone. One is more resilient during times of adversity, viewing each challenge as WOD they can grind through (which is illustrated by the note my mom would send me during finals week each semester). One may feel more confident with their body image as well as more confident with maintaining conversations with strangers due to the questions bank one has gained from the “Circle Up”. The gym is the one place that will always challenge you and help you grow stronger not just physically, but mentally.
Whenever I am on the floor coaching, I get joy from witnessing your transformation and success, in and out of the gym. Coaching gives me the opportunity to build a relationship with you that I wouldn’t have if I wasn’t a coach. I coach to empower you to become your best self, and I love seeing your success.
